Dairy Pour Spout
These reusable pour spouts fit on any of the Cowichan Milk bottles. They stay on securely and control the stream of milk or cream for easier pouring.
They do fit very tightly, so they require a strong hand to pull them off again. We recommend warming the plastic spout with hot tap water to allow it to go on and release more easily, and to prevent cracking.

Laundry Soda (Sodium Carbonate)
Washing soda is a compound, also known as sodium carbonate, frequently used in DIY and commercial laundry detergents. Washing soda should not be confused with baking soda (a less abrasive cleaning agent), although the two compounds are closely related since they both contain the mineral trona. Regardless of one’s stance on organics, most people are amazed to discover that unless the package specifically says “unbleached” and “untreated” there are many chemicals that are allowed to be added. These agents do not need to be declared under current Canadian labelling laws for “white flour”. Some examples are chlorine, benzoyl peroxide, ammonium chloride, azodicarbonamide, and l-cysteine. We slowly stone grind and sift our Rye at low temperature to maximize flavour and preserve nutrients. Rye is a healthy choice because of its gluten structure and high proportion of soluble fibre. “Sifted” simply means we remove the bran.
