These reusable pour spouts fit on any of the Cowichan Milk bottles. They stay on securely and control the stream of milk or cream for easier pouring.
They do fit very tightly, so they require a strong hand to pull them off again. We recommend warming the plastic spout with hot tap water to allow it to go on and release more easily, and to prevent cracking.

2% Milk- Low-Pasteurized Cowichan Valley
2% Milk- Low-pasteurized, Grass-Fed*, Cowichan Valley
Bottled on Monday and in your fridge by Tuesday- this is the tastiest, farm-fresh milk on Saltspring!
Why we love Cowichan Milk Company
– Cowichan milk is grass fed (from their own fields) and is supplemented with a little grain in the winter months.
– The pasteurization method they use is slow and low. It is the lowest temperature of pasteurization that is legal in Canada (closest to raw milk folks!). It is heated just enough to kill unwanted bacteria but preserves the healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, essential minerals, and fat-soluble vitamins A, D3, and K2.
– Their farm is a circular operation all on the same site. They grow the grass that feeds the cows and the manure goes right back into the fields for fertilization.
– The milk is bottled the day before you receive it on Salt Spring. Any fresher and you would have to be under the cow!
– The vanBovens are a third- generation (and going) family of milk farmers.
Cowichan Milk Company’s dairy is pasteurized “low and slow”, leaving it as close to its natural state as possible.
Ingredients: Milk, Vitamin D3.
Low-pasteurized means that Cowichan Milk will not have the long shelf life of most milks, which are pasteurized with the “high temperature, short time” method. Use within a week of opening.

Organic Kale Powder, Canada
As one would assume from the name, kale powder is a dried and smashed form of the fresh leaves. These leaves are generally harvested at optimal ripeness, then air or freeze dried until they are brittle enough to be gently broken and pulverized into dust.
Powdered Kale is much more concentrated of a form than the fresh wavy leaves since the water weight has been removed, packing the power of a cup of fresh kale into about a serving of four teaspoons – making it far more nutritionally dense than fresh kale and easier to digest. That same serving has more iron than beef per calorie, and more calcium than a cup of milk.

Organic steel cut oats contains potassium, calcium, magnesium, several different B-vitamins and vitamin E. Additionally, oats have trace minerals, such as manganese, copper, iron, selenium and zinc. They are also full of phytochemicals, which are good for you, and contain both insoluble and soluble fiber.
Steel cut oats are made by taking the oat groats and cutting them into 2 to 3 smaller pieces using a steel blade. Steel cut oats are also sometimes called Irish oats. Steel cut oats are also more coarse than other types of oats and tend to be chewier. This gives them a hearty texture that is very filling, but it does mean they require longer soaking and cooking times. However, they are still good to use in an overnight oats recipe.

Oats – Quick Rolled Organic
Organic Quick Rolled Oats, Canada
Quick rolled oats, consisting of thinner and smaller flakes, have a similar nutritional profile and the same mild taste but higher glycemic index and creamier texture, compared to regular rolled oats. They’re partially cooked by steaming and then rolled even thinner than old-fashioned oats.
They also can be prepared by just adding boiling water, stirring, and letting them stand for a few minutes to thicken, making them almost as convenient as instant oats. Either way, they make a quick and easy to digest, nourishing hot breakfast cereal (aka oatmeal or porridge), but are also used in many baked goods such as bars, cookies, and muffins, or as a base ingredient in granolas and mueslis.
No jar deposit- packaged in kraft paper.

Dried Garlic — 32g
Dried garlic vs Fresh Garlic
When we talk about flavor, there are significant differences between dehydrated garlic and fresh garlic. Dehydrated garlic has a sweeter taste and won’t have a biting flavor. Some people also feel the mildly roasted flavor (it comes from dehydration).
Dehydrated garlic is fresh garlic that has undergone drying process to remove moisture increasing its shelf life while maintaining its flavor.
Use as is, or can be ground into flakes or powder.
Fresh garlic has strong pungant aroma. Requires peeling and chopping and it has a limited shelf life.
Note: Moisture is dried garlic’s enemy. Best kept in an airtight container for the longest shelf life. Hence our farm is offering 2 sizes in glass jars — 125ml jar = 1 oz (32 g) of dried garlic or 250ml jar = 2 oz (64 g)
